My first year as your MP

On 4th July, we marked one year since the country voted for change and elected a Labour government committed to national renewal, fixing the foundations and building a fairer Britain. Not only that, but it also marked one year since I became Member of Parliament for our wonderful community.
Since that day, it has been the honour of my life to serve as the MP for Hendon. I’m so proud that you put your trust not just in Labour, but in me. What I said in my acceptance speech still holds true: even if we might not always agree on everything, I will always fight hard for every single person in our constituency - no matter who you voted for.
I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far - both the Labour Party nationally, and together as a community.
Over the past 12 months, I have:
✅ Supported over 8,000 individual constituent cases
✅ Organised more than 250 local events and visits
✅ Held over 50 constituency surgeries to listen and act on your concerns
✅ Spoken about Hendon in Parliament 35 times, on average once every week Parliament sits
I will soon be releasing my Annual Report, which will set out in more detail what I have spent the past 12 months delivering for you. In the meantime, I wanted to share the list below outlining just some of the positive change this Labour government has already made.
